Could You Explain a Bit More About the Statistical Standard Deviation?

    Hi Ion
I read your book about probability and find it very interesting. Good work. I've been a roulette player for 2 years and has wasted a lot of money on so-called winning strategies. Roulette is quite like a hobby for me now just at the time I read your book about "anything which has non-zero probability would happen when trials arise".

I found two things hard to understand in your book, one is in the chapter that you introduced the "Super Roulette Strategy". You mentioned a piece of word about "In/De" strategy, but I found there was a member here has already asked about that, and you wanted to keep it a secret. It's fine, I won't ask about that again here.

But how about the "statical standard deviation" you mentioned in the chapter about standard deviation? and FFG deviation? You said in the book that "50% or more percentage of repeat will happen within FFG median". Should I think it like this: for example, roulette number 0 will repeat itself 68.2% of time between (FFG median - FFG deviation trials TO FFG median + FFG deviation trials); 95.4% of times between (FFG median - 2*FFG deviation trials TO FFG median + 2*FFG devation trials)?

    Thank you for your help

    best regards

    No Re-Discussing My Book

    mademajia:

As a rule, I do not discuss my book, unless there are real errors discovered by the readers. Yes, a few readers discovered what I also had discovered: a couple of typos. They were caused by a weird error in an early version of Word 2007. If I reformatted a paragraph, the weirdo reformatted, automatically, the entire document (book)! I had to redo again, and again…

Anyway, I wrote about that too in my forums. The typos were like this: 33 = 9. Originally, 3 was followed by superscript 3 (like 3^3 = 9). I fixed them a few times. But, in the final revision, the same thing (automatic reformatting) happened again. I didn’t catch the errors … the book editors didn’t catch the typos …

As I said, I do not discuss my book because it would mean … re-discussion! I would have to write again the pages in discussion! Who could do that?!

In your case, FFG median is one thing; FFG deviation and statistical standard deviation are totally different beasts.

    1) Repeating after a number of skips less than or equal to FFG median refers to the skip. What is a skip? Well, I wrote a lot about it, including in the book. The skip is the number of roulette spins (in your case) between two hits of the same number.

    2) The FFG deviation or the standard deviation refers to real roulette numbers and the absolute difference between two adjacent numbers.

    3) FFG median is calculated by the Fundamental Formula of Gambling for the degree of certainty DC = 50%.

    4) FFG deviation is calculated by the Fundamental Formula of Gambling for the degree of certainty DC = 25%.
