December 19, 2011….Monday Night Football….Delayed by Power Outage (Earthquake?)
NFL football is the most popular event on the American television. Out of the 25 most popular TV shows, 23 of them are NFL football games. NFL on TV has twice as many spectators as all prime-time TV shows combined!
So, I was ready for the Monday Night Football game on the Internet. Possibly, I was watching the same broadcast as the British. All of the sudden, the ESPN broadcast stopped! The electric power went out! We saw a transformer blow out (close to the Candlestick Stadium). The event triggered unsettling memories. It happened before in 1989, during the baseball World Series (two teams from the Bay area: Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants). It was a devastating earthquake, doing a lot of damage in San Francisco.
I can see now the Monday Night Football game resumed. It’s between my fellow Pennsylvanians of Pittsburgh (Steelers) and the local San Francisco 49ers.
We don’t know exactly if an earthquake was the cause of this unusual event…. It’s so good to be alive….

PS
My own message board drives me crazy!!! I never know what’s gonna happen….Right now, I can’t post my message!!!!
By the way — the event took place at 5:19 PM, U.S. Pacific Standard Time, 8:19 PM, U.S. Eastern Standard Time.
At 6:43 PM Pacific Time the power went out again….
