Playing Quads as opposed to single numbers
The startegy was to play Hot Quads combined with one single (see previous post on hot/cold issue).
This was for a 5/50 lottery; real drawings 358
One set (33052) of such combinations produced the jackpot 4 drawings later! This was not a real play, just a test - unfortunately.
The paradox is that 3 single numbers belonging to the Quads had no chance to be selected based on their individual frequency or skip. Not even the single number based on his high frequency.
Pairs or triples or quads behave differently from a statistical point of view as compared to their individual components.
Should we make deeper tests in this direction, expanding the concept of wondergrid to triples or quads? or not?

32 38 36 34 27 POWERBALL 7
this is the latest real drawing of the french lotto.
Such a combination has exactly the same probability to appear as any other!
There is a winner! around 1 million euro I believe.
There is only 21 such quad (even only with a step of 2) for the game. 1 in 1042.

I may not totally respond to the thread as such, so don't take it personally. But I think, in effect (and from the old forum discussions, and this one) I have this thinking on this:
(also, I have as such, emailed a friend concerning this, but decided to put it here as well)
We plot the Grid as the Occurence Grid. The Grid doesn't take in account the x draws we want, but rather the number of pairs for number 1 to lottomax[highest number in your lottery]
Ok. I play lotto 5/39. So I plot 10 pairs for numbers 1 through 39, in order of occurence.
Eg
1 15 19 21 39 7 18 29 17
2 9 11 24 34 4 14 15 20 3 8
3 9 14 27 35 6 15 36 13 16
4 9 18 19 30 6 13 14 33 16
5 10 11 26 31 9 16 27
6 4 13 14 33 3 15 36 12 24
7 13 17 21 37 1 18 29 39 8 20
8 7 20 32 34 11 15 16 17 2 3
9 3 14 27 35 4 18 19 30 5 11
10 5 11 26 31 4 16 25 30 15 19
11 5 10 26 31 9 16 27 2
12 20 24 30 37 6 27 32 3
13 7 17 21 37 14 28 36 39 4 6
14 13 28 36 39 3 9 27 35 4 6
15 1 19 21 39 17 26 38 3 6
16 5 9 11 27 4 14 17 34 10
17 7 13 21 37 1 15 26 38 4 14
18 4 9 19 30 1 7 29 39 11 15
19 1 15 21 39 4 9 18 30 20 28
20 7 8 32 34 19 28 35 10 15
21 1 15 19 39 7 13 17 37 11
22 2 12 34 37 9 28 39 7 15
23 1 7 27 31 3 16 33 38 14 24
24 2 9 11 34 15 25 38 10
25 4 10 16 30 15 24 34 38 7
26 5 10 11 31 1 15 17 38 27 28
27 3 9 14 35 5 11 16 17 34
28 13 14 36 39 11 15 18 32 19 20
29 1 7 18 39 11 21 15
30 4 9 18 19 10 16 25 3 13
31 5 10 11 26 1 7 23 27
32 7 8 20 34 11 15 18 28 6 12
33 4 6 13 14 3 16 23 38 32
34 7 8 20 32 4 14 16 17 27
35 3 9 14 27 17 34 36 19 20
36 13 14 28 39 17 27 34 35 3 6
37 7 13 17 21 12 20 24 30 23 32
38 1 15 17 26 24 25 34 3 16
39 1 15 19 21 13 14 28 36 7
If looking at recent drawings,..........
1 15 19 21 39
5 10 11 26 31
7 13 17 21 37
13 14 28 36 39
3 9 14 27 35
4 9 18 19 30
4 6 13 14 33
1 7 18 29 39
etc
Anyway, we have a grid occurence for each number 1 to 39
What is the end purpose? To eliminate pairs in the grid, here.
Now, we plot the lowest/highest skip for our group (pairs/trips/quads/etc)
We may find (or generalize) that all our pairs will be from within 200 draws, ...x draws, whatever result.
We plot through Ion's software all the pairs, for example, withing these draws.
So now we look back at our Occurence Grid, and only keep the pairs that are in the top we have just plotted.
Eg for number 1 (1 15 19 21 39 7 18 29 17)
Top pairs plotted for what I think all my pairs will come from (however, I use many Dx files). This time, I think all pairs will be from within 385 skips, for example.
So I plot the Pairs Rundown for 386 draws
Lotto-5 Pairings - Date: 03-30-2011
Total pairings for 39 numbers: 741
Data file analyzed: F598.TXT
Total drawings analyzed: 386
==================================
Lotto-5 Pairing Total hits
==================================
.................
1 15 19 21 39 7 18 29 17
1 15 7
1 39 4
1 7 5
1 17 6
...................
1 2 3
1 3 3
1 4 5
1 5 0
1 6 6
1 7 5
1 8 2
1 9 5
1 10 4
1 11 4
1 12 6
1 13 3
1 14 3
1 15 7
1 16 5
1 17 6
1 18 3
1 19 3
1 20 7
1 21 3
1 22 5
1 23 3
1 24 3
1 25 2
1 26 6
1 27 7
1 28 4
1 29 2
1 30 1
1 31 4
1 32 4
1 33 6
1 34 3
1 35 5
1 36 2
1 37 4
1 38 4
1 39 4
then, I just look at the top pair (and my threshold) of my occurence string 1 15 19 21 39 7 18 29 17
What hits does 1 15 have? What hits does 1 19 have? etc. Take top pairs (top at which I set)
I settled on
1 15 7
1 39 4
1 7 5
1 17 6
Thus, my NEW GRID is 1 15 39 7 17
So on for all the numbers from 1 to lottomax
Eventually, my Occurence string can be skimmed down to only the top pairs that I get from the Rundown within the x draws specified, and the threshold specified.

seems the formatting here doesn't show the report well
(in the "Lotto-5 Pairing Total hits", the third number is the Hits number)
lastly, the top pairs alone in withing what we think all are pairs will come from, play a role.
